Paul commenced in the financial services industry in the early 1990s and is one of Australia’s most experienced private client financial advisers. Paul’s career has taken him to the United Kingdom and has seen him hold senior positions in financial services firms, both large and small.
Paul spent four years at Aviva and Norwich Union in a variety of management roles with responsibilities for business development, and marketing, before his passion for working directly with clients drew him back to private practice in 2004.
Paul founded WealthSpan in early 2010 with the sole purpose of providing value laden advice of the highest quality to clients from all walks of life. In particular, Paul wanted to service the advice needs of clients who themselves are professional advisers. Paul and the WealthSpan team frequently carry out their work in cooperation with other professionals including Accountants and Lawyers. Nowhere is the benefit of this collaborative approach more valuable for clients than in the context of intergenerational wealth transfer and business succession planning, which are two of WealthSpan’s areas of specialization.
Paul combines his life as WealthSpan’s Managing Director and Chief Financial Adviser with his passion for Research. Paul is completing a Doctorate in the area of Personal Finance, within the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash Business School – Melbourne.
Paul is a Senior Associate of FINSIA, an Affiliate of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA), and a Practitioner Member of the Association of Financial Advisers. Paul was the 1st Runner Up in the 2018 PlanPlus Global Financial Planning Awards – Europe Region.
“In 2010, WealthSpan opened its doors intent on delivering high quality, value laden financial advice. Over the past decade we have focussed on designing strategies for clients that do just that. We continue to be tested by our clients, by changes in legislation, by the economy and by our peers. The PlanPlus Global Financial Planning Awards push us to be better. They cause us to reflect on what we do and to make improvements. It’s a process we truly value and the feedback we receive from the team of international judges is priceless. My advice to anyone who wants to make it to the finals of this competition is to find a client who is in dire need of quality independent financial advice. Work as hard as you can to help them achieve a better future, and passionately share your work with the PlanPlus judging panel.”
