Matthew D. Asser

As President, Matthew concentrates on helping executives, entrepreneurs and financial advice professionals to reimagine, redefine & renew their passion & productivity.

You can think of him as a thoughtful business growth professional with diverse strategic, business, marketing, and sales experience gained over 30 years. Matthew has been involved with two business start-ups in financial services, which included finance, product development and management in the areas of marketing, sales, and human resources.

Matthew’s experience includes ten years in a fee-based financial advisory business, as well as being vice-president in a financial planning software company. He is a co-contributor to the Best Practices Manual published by Advocis (Canada’s largest association of financial advisors); and was a co-recipient of the Canadian Investment Awards 2007 Advisor Education Award. He is the author of two book chapters:

  1. Page, J. and Asser, M. (2013). The Magic of Engagement. In Advisors Seeking Knowledge—A Comprehensive Guide to Succession and Estate Planning. Markham: LexisNexis Canada; and

  2. Asser, M. (2007). Program Evaluation Approaches. In Best Practices: Training & Development. Toronto: Carswell Thompson Professional Publishing.

He has led the development and implementation of coaching and performance improvement programs within Professional and Financial Services. A successful business and transition coach he has also developed communities of practice with the goal of creating meaningful change.

He holds a Master of Education degree with a focus on distance education, educational leadership & strategy, learning theory, and educational technology. Matthew has a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science & Economics) and holds the MTI, CIM, FCSI, and CFP designations. He is an EI Skills Group Certified Professional & MHS Certified MSCEIT Professional having completed the Mayer Salovey Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test Certification at Yale. He is currently enrolled in an MA, Counselling Psychology program and is a Counsellor-in-Training.

With over 30 years of business experience Matthew understands the challenges facing entrepreneurs. He works with financial advisory firms and financial advice professionals to help them create value in their businesses, grow their revenues, and increase their life enjoyment.
