John Page

John’s first foray in business was an independent insurance brokerage firm that he sold in 1980 to a leading Canadian life insurance company in order to start an agency for the purchaser. Over the next six years he built one of the fastest growing agencies in insurance company’s history using a financial planning business model.

In 1986 John started Page and Associates, one of the first independent, fee-based financial advisory firms in Canada. Over the next 15 years John and his colleagues developed a model that resulted in advisors being able to build businesses with minimal client attrition, having the ability to generate nearly all new business by referral, and recurring annual revenue of 4-5x industry averages.  The net result is an advisory practice development model which is highly profitable, and creates lots of personal and professional enjoyment for the advisor.

In 2004 John founded the Wealth Enhancement Academy to teach professional advisors the Wealth Enhancement Process® financial advisory model. This award-winning model increases the Return On Life™ of both the client and the advisor. The principles and processes that are taught have no geographical boundaries.

John is an acknowledged international expert on the topic of Client Engagement, which he defines as the “process of having clients retain you as their primary financial advisor”. John thinks of client engagement as the beginning of the ongoing process of deepening client-advisor trust. The natural outcome is clients implementing the advisors’ advice in a timely fashion – leading to achievement of all of their objectives.

John is a major contributor to the Best Practices Manual published by Advocis; a co-recipient of the Canadian Investment Awards 2007 Advisor Education Award, co-author of The Canadian Retirement Guide, co-author of The US Retirement Guide, and contributing author to Advisors Seeking Knowledge – A Comprehensive Guide to Estate Planning and Succession.

Page and Associates is now operated in Richmond Hill Ontario by two sons, Don and Rick.  John has been blessed to have six children. John continues to operate the Wealth Enhancement Academy.
