“A colleague asked me why I entered the PlanPlus Canada Financial Planning Awards Competition, and my quick response was, “I’m a financial planner and the competition is another check on my abilities”. Developing a financial plan is a creative process and although there are some standards, there is a lot of leeway in the scope and direction of a plan. It was a great experience to rewrite an existing plan to match the plan format of the competition. It has caused me to think about my approach to plan writing and delivery. I also valued the comments of one of the judges who asked for clarification on a few points. I would recommend the PlanPlus Canada Financial Planning Awards Competition to any planner wanting to sharpen their skills.”
